Verse 1 It’s late and the world finally slowed down, no distractions around, no voices too loud, just me in this moment, no need for a crowd, and I feel You right here, I don’t gotta reach out. I ain’t askin’ for nothin’, I ain’t chasin’ a sign, I’m not lookin’ for answers, I’m just takin’ this time to sit in Your presence and clear out my mind, and remember again that Your peace is mine. I been movin’ all day, I been caught in the flow, handle this, handle that, goin’ fast, never slow, but right now I’m still, I don’t need to control, I just breathe and I feel like I’m finally whole. It’s a different kind of calm that I can’t describe, not somethin’ I force, not somethin’ I try, it just meets me right here when I let it inside, and I know it’s You, God—I can’t deny it. I don’t gotta perform, I don’t gotta be strong, I don’t gotta pretend like I got it all on, I can come as I am, even when I feel wrong, and You still stay close, You don’t ever withdraw. That right there changes everything for me, I don’t feel like I gotta be somethin’ I’m not to be accepted or seen, I can just be me, and You meet me right here in my honesty. So I let my guard down, I don’t hold it in, I don’t filter my thoughts, I don’t cover my sins, I just lay it all out, I don’t try to pretend, and I feel that peace come back again. It’s not loud, it’s not rushed, it just settles in, like a quiet assurance deep within, that I’m safe, I’m known, I’m held by Him, and I don’t need anything else in this moment. Hook Stay awhile with me, don’t let this fade, I don’t wanna rush, I don’t wanna escape, I just wanna sit in the love You gave, and let everything else fall out of place. Through God the Father, I know I’m held, through Jesus my Savior, I’m known so well, through the Spirit that moves, I can finally exhale, stay awhile with me—I don’t need anything else. Verse 2 I used to fill silence with anything loud, turn on a screen just to drown it all out, didn’t like what I felt when it got too quiet, now I see that’s the place where You meet me the most. It’s not in the chaos, not in the rush, not in the places I used to trust, it’s right here in the stillness where You show up, and remind me again that Your love is enough. I don’t need to impress, I don’t need to achieve, I don’t need to earn what You freely give me, I don’t need to chase just to finally see that I’ve been in Your presence the whole time. That realization hits different at night, when there’s nothin’ to prove, nothin’ to fight, just me and You, and everything right falls into place when I rest in Your sight. Through Jesus Christ, I don’t carry that weight, I don’t live in regret, I don’t stay in that state, I’ve been washed, I’ve been changed, I’ve been given new grace, and I don’t gotta run from the past I faced. That freedom shows up when I sit right here, not tryin’ to outrun every doubt or fear, but allowin’ Your truth to become more clear in the quiet moments when You draw me near. Through the Spirit I feel when I’m startin’ to drift, He brings me right back, it’s a gentle shift, not force, not pressure, not somethin’ to fix, just a reminder of the life I’ve been given. And God the Father, You steady my soul, You don’t rush me out, You don’t push me to go, You just let me stay right here in Your hold, and I finally see I don’t need control.
