Ballad of the sons of God
Upon the peaks where Hermon rises high, Beneath the vault of God’s eternal sky, The watchers swore their fateful oath to fall, Forsaking stars, they left the Maker’s hall. They sought the daughters of the earth below, And bore strange seed where darkened waters flow. The titans rose, the mighty and profane, And earth grew dark beneath their bloody reign. Forbidden arts they taught with whispered lies, And wove fell crafts beneath unholy skies. The hearts of men were snared in shadowed lore, Till death and ruin covered every shore. Then thunder rolled, and heaven’s gates were flung, The hosts of God their battle hymns had sung. The chains of darkness closed on watchers vile, And drowned beneath, their pride turned to exile. The titans fell, swept forth by waters deep, While Noah’s ark did o’er the tempest leap. Eight souls remained, the remnant of His plan, To heal the breach, and guide the race of man. Yet nations rose and turned from Him once more, To serve the hosts that bound them as before. The gods of earth, their thrones on high they claimed, While lust and fire through every temple flamed. But God, in mercy, would His people save, And call them forth from out the shadowed grave. Through prophets’ cry and covenant’s decree, He raised a promise of eternity. Then dawned the time when heaven’s glory shone, And God sent forth His own begotten Son. He broke the chains of sin and shattered night, And claimed His sons to march as heirs of light. For not with swords of earth their war is won, But Spirit’s power and truth of God’s own Son. The strongholds fall, the mighty are brought low, As light reveals what darkness cannot know. The earth now groans, the heavens quake in dread, For soon the keys of death shall wake the dead. The star shall fall, and Hell’s gates open wide, And lo, the titans rise, their wrath and pride. Yet fear not, sons, for now your hour is near, The hosts of heaven rise, the path is clear! With swords of flame, and faith’s unyielding shield, The sons of light shall face them on the field. Then trumpet blasts shall rend the darkened air, And Christ shall come, His glory shining fair. The watchers’ thrones and titans’ might shall fail, As earth and heaven sing redemption’s tale. So stand, O sons, in armor gleaming bright, The day shall break upon eternal light. For God is near, His word shall e’er prevail, And every power of darkness must grow pale. Lift high the song of battles fought and won, The tide has turned, the reign of sin undone. For now the sons of God in glory shine, And all creation joins the grand design. From Hermon’s heights to heaven’s endless sea, The King shall reign in perfect majesty. And every tongue shall praise, all knees shall bow, For Christ is Lord, and all to Him shall bow.
