Jaelryn Lyonsbane, Daughter of Death #TheTavern
This is my contribution to my dear friend's, Gibeligob🧙♂️(check him out here: https://suno.com/@the_tavern ), #TheTavern project! This is part 1 of 3 songs to my character, Jaelryn Lyonsbane. She is a half-drow, born to a Lolth-sworn mother and to the human mortal, Kelemvor, eleven years before his ascension as god of the dead. Jaelryn's first sixteen years of life could not truly be told here as they are very heavy topics; in this song, she is currently eighteen years of age. Also, a huge MASSIVE thanks to Gibeligob for helping me with the lyrics! Verse 1 and 2, Chorus 2 and final Chorus were written by him, and this song would not have been possible without his tremendous help and advice! Thank you so much, Gib! Your gift of lyrics is truly amazing! 💗 ---- [Intro] Daughter of Kelemvor was born, But mother was lost. Father's fear was greater than his love, And so he left his child, Not knowing what cruelty she'll face [Choir chant] (Daughter of Death) (Daughter of Death) [Verse 1] A hundred winters have slipped away, Since Jaelryn trained by night and day, Beside the Drow, both fierce and proud, Who took her in from cries too loud. From cruel beginnings, torn and tossed, She found the home she thought she'd lost. They taught her words in shadowed speech, Revealing truths just out of reach. [Pre-Chorus] Usstan inbal muth ussta fuma, (I have found my family) Uss nindel Usstan inbal detholusin whol usstan— (One that I have chosen for myself) D'elezz ussta vlos zhah naut napple, nind inbal ja'hai-na uns'aa! (Though my blood is not pure, they have accepted me) [Chorus] I stand and follow beside my kin, We go from place to place, where I've never been. With sword and shield, hand in hand, I will learn to protect those I can. And though they've healed my soul, I yet do not feel fully whole. I am of human and Drow, a mix of two, To find who I am, I will pursue. [Verse 2] Then came a quest—too grave, too dire, A blaze she could not yet inspire. They bade her stay with those who pray, Where silence sings and souls decay. Within the temple, veiled in dread, She walked the halls of whispered dead. And in that dark, divine abode, She found her heart, her path, her code— Her Father, Her God of the Dead! [Pre-Chorus] Usstan m l'nnabiss, (I felt the pull) Ol nau'thalus uns'aa ulu dos— (It led me to you) Lu'Dorn screa vel'uss dos ph'ulu uns'aa! (And I'll learn who you are to me) [Chorus] I speak for those the world forgets, I walk where light and sorrow met. No fear of death, no need to run, For I am shadow, dusk, and sun. The Grave is not an end for me, But truth and strength and clarity. A soul once lost, now deeply known— Cleric of death, I stand alone. [Bridge] A vaen, Usstan zhaun ussta quortek, (At last, I know my soul) Lu'd'elezz mizil'ros Usstan mir— (And though questions I hold) Usstan orn z'hin nindol menvis xuil dos! (I will walk this path with you) [Final Chorus] I am the Daughter of Death's own flame, Child of Kelemvor, forged in name. Where others flee, I rise and tread, A voice for silence, guide of dead. No tears I shed, no soul I fear, The veil is thin - my path is clear. In dusk I dwell, in truth I breathe, The grave's embrace, my legacy. [Outro — Choir chant] (Daughter of Death) (Daughter of Death) (Jaelryn Lyonsbane)
