A child was born in quiet grace In Bethlehem A holy place The heavens sang The earth stood still Under the star A story began Mary gave birth to a tiny man A fragile king in swaddled cloth A light to guide the weary lost The wise men came Their gifts in tow Gold and myrrh for the one we’d know Angels sang with voices clear “Do not fear The Savior’s near” Oh The star that led us here Shines for every heart to hear It calls us close It draws us near To love To hope To dry each tear The reason why The reason clear The child that led us here The shepherds ran through fields of night Their hearts alight Their souls in flight To see the face of heaven’s glow A gift for all A love to show And in the sky The star still burned A sign for all who yearned and turned This season’s more than gifts we bring It’s more than songs the carolers sing It’s hearts unwrapped It’s hands to hold It’s love that warms through winter’s cold Oh The star that led us here Shines for every heart to hear It calls us close It draws us near To love To hope To dry each tear The reason why The reason clear The child that led us here
