Bare Brothers

[Verse 1] We fell through the crack in the playground Past fire Past smoke Past the swing set chains You grabbed my hand Said “stay close” I laughed “we only packed our names” Bare feet on the skull-filled staircase You grinned “guess armor’s overrated” Rust door Hot like a stovetop And every scary face just waited [Chorus] Stormbreaker brothers Side by side Nothing to cover us Nothing to hide Skin and scars and scraped-up knees Swinging that axe like it’s cut from the breeze Stormbreaker brothers Hear us yell We guard our friends at the gates of hell [Verse 2] You dragged that axe through the gravel Sparks jumped up like angry stars Our friends were locked in a bone cage Crying out our scrambled names from afar Demons laughed in wrought iron helmets Pointing claws at our bare shoulders You said “hey You got a problem?” I said “Come get some, Fucko" "Fuck around and find out!" [Chorus] Stormbreaker brothers Side by side Nothing to cover us Nothing to hide Skin and scars and scraped-up knees Swinging that axe like it’s cut from the breeze Stormbreaker brothers Hear us yell We guard our friends at the gates of hell [Bridge] [Drums drop to toms Kids chanting] We don’t need clothes We don’t need shields We are the storm The ground It yields One swing Chains break One scream Walls shake “You’re safe!” We shout “Let’s bounce Right now!” (woah) [Chorus] Stormbreaker brothers Side by side Nothing to cover us Nothing to hide Skin and scars and scraped-up knees Swinging that axe like it’s cut from the breeze Stormbreaker brothers Hear us yell We drag our friends out the pits of hell [Outro] Bare feet running up through fire Ash on our cheeks like war paint lines Two little kids with a thunder blade Saving the world in our birthday suits
