It's easier to slide down hill Then to trudge the steepened grade 'Tis easier to give in to stress and strain And into the darkness fade `````````` Perhaps it seems a better road If you follow close the crowd To keep yourself on a beaten path Where anything's allowed `````````` But somewhere along that road you see A sign of danger ahead And then you begin to realize In this path there's much to dread `````````` So you stop in your very tracks And truly start to think That taking this too easy road Will only make you sink `````````` Into a valley of slushy mud Where there's no hope at all And so you cry to the Creator God To aid you where you fall `````````` For only He can fish you out On to higher and dryer ground And set you on a brand new road Where you'll be safe and sound
