Dad trying to fix the car

V4.5

[Verse] Out in the driveway, under the sun, Dad had a mission, the battle begun. The old Chevy groaned, refused to ignite, But Dad swore he'd fix it, he’d make it run right. [Chorus] He hooked the doo dad to the gizmo, gave it a try, With a wrench in his hand and that fire in his eye. But smoke started rising, sparks flew through the air, Dad muttered some words we don't often share. [Verse 2] The toolbox was scattered, bolts on the ground, He scratched at his head, no solution he found. Mom peeked through the curtains, a smirk on her face, As Dad wrestled that Chevy, refusing disgrace. [Spoken Monologue] "Now, listen here," Dad said, wiping grease from his brow, "I know it might not look like I got this under control, but you see, This here doo dad's supposed to talk to that there gizmo. At least, that's what the fella at the auto shop said... Well, it ain’t cooperating, but I’ll be darned if I let this ol' car beat me!" [Chorus] He hooked the doo dad to the gizmo, gave it a try, With a wrench in his hand and that fire in his eye. But smoke started rising, sparks flew through the air, Dad muttered some words we don't often share. [Verse 3] By sundown he’d given that Chevy his all, But it sat there in silence, stubborn as a wall. "Well, maybe tomorrow," he said with a grin, "Cause sometimes you lose, and sometimes you win."
