¡¡¡Ay, ay, ayyyy!!! [Verse 1] Don Fernando slipped away on a Tuesday afternoon, Now the family’s in the courtyard singing under the moon. We bought the finest velvet box, we bought the freshest rose, And thirty relatives showed up in rented formal clothes! Tío Hector brought a lawyer, Primo Juan brought a spade, To make sure every single debt and penny would be paid! [Chorus] ¡Olé, olé, we miss him so! Now who gets the hacienda and the gold in Mexico? The tears are streaming down our face, we’re crying in the hall, Because the notary just said... he left it to the dog! ¡Ay caramba! He left it to the dog! [Verse 2] Abuela fainted on the rug, the cousins start to fight, The lawyer climbed an apple tree and hid there for the night! The Chihuahua sits upon the throne, wearing a silver crown, While the whole estate is burning as the sun is going down! We pour another round of tequila, we raise a glass up high, It’s the best fiesta in the town, we never wanted him to die! [Chorus] ¡Olé, olé, we miss him so! Now who gets the hacienda and the gold in Mexico? The tears are streaming down our face, we’re crying in the hall, Because the notary just said... he left it to the dog! ¡Ay caramba! He left it to the dog! [Bridge] Forgive us, Don Fernando, for fighting over crumbs... ...Unless the dog has an accident before the morning comes! [Outro] Rest in peace, old man! Sign the paper, little dog! ¡¡¡Viva el Chihuahua!!!
