Getting Up
I built it all with my hands, Only to watch it crumble as a castle made of sand. So tempting 'twas to crawl in that hole, that comfortable blanket I was holding most. I'm tired of the ground, tired of the fall, tired of pretending that staying there's okay. The dark doesn't build, and silence doesn't sing. so I'm done with this comfortable suffering. I'm getting up, no more hiding in the ruins I've made. Oh yes, I'm getting loud, just like that, let them hear me, let my voice be played. This is who I am, this is what I do, I sing, I play, I scream, I roar... Watch me now, watch me rise. We've been curled up in the same dark room, haven't we? Convincing ourselves there was nothing left to do. But we were made for more than waiting and wither, How could we, otherwise, watch ourselves in the mirror? we were made to move, to sing 'n' to shout. The world won't wait, and neither will we: this is who we choose to be. We're getting up, no more hiding in the ruins we made. Oh yes, we're getting loud, just like that, let them hear us, let our voices roar. This is who we are, this is what we do, we sing, we play, we scream, we break through. Watch us rise! Define yourself, the world has no right to do it for you. Stand up, walk, run 'n' jump, let your energy explode right through you. We are not the fall, we are what comes soon after... So stand up and roar! Rise now, Rise up! Roar out loud, Roar out loud! We're all here, We are here! Watch us rise. Watch us rise!!!
