Do you wanna be a candy kid again my little friend Do you wanna wear a mask and let October never end Do you wanna be a ghoul or ghost or monster for pretend Do you wanna walk the neighborhood where autumn branches bend Do you wanna chase the whispers that the chilling breezes send To a time when simple magic was a thing we could defend Back when cardboard boxes held the coolest costumes made And we wandered porch to porch inside the maple-scented shade With a plastic pumpkin swinging low and heavy on your arm Every darkened driveway held a spooky friendly charm There were pillowcases waiting for the chocolate bars and sweets As we ran in tennis shoes across the chilly autumn streets We would knock upon the timbers of the creaky wooden doors While the porch light flickered amber on the welcome-matted floors "Trick-or-treat" we chorused loud with laughter in the air As the neighbors doled out goodies with a proud delighted stare Mini bars of butterscotch and wrappers crinkled bright Caramel apples sticky-sweet beneath the harvest light Tasting candy corn by handfuls in the living room display While the waxen fangs and plastic teeth were safely tucked away Jack-o-lanterns grinning crooked from the steps outside With their flickering candle glow and faces carved with pride Smelling burning leaves and woodsmoke floating down the lane Pounding raindrops tapping soft against the windowpane Did we really scale those fences did we really trick and run In the shadows of the porch lights when the night had just begun Oh the autumn wind is whispering through branches bare and gray Calling back the magic of a long-forgotten day Though the years have hurried past us and the costumes are put by We can still recall the magic underneath that autumn sky So close your eyes and listen to the laughter in the wind Wouldn't you just love to be a candy kid again [Rock Chant, Choir] Wouldn't you just love to be a candy kid again? Wouldn't you just love to be a candy kid again? Wouldn't you just love to be a candy kid again? Make a wish to Hallow Spirit, hope the magic never ends! Wouldn't you just love to be a candy kid again!? Wouldn't you just love to be a candy kid again!? Wouldn't you just love to be a candy kid again!? Make a wish to Hallow Spirit, hope the magic never ends! Wouldn't you just love to be a candy kid again!? Wouldn't you just love to be a candy kid again!? Wouldn't you just love to be a candy kid again!? Make a wish to Hallow Spirit, hope the magic never ends! [rock guitar solo]
