Let You Grow

V5.5

I got a story, and I want you to hear, It’s a hard one… better keep your tissues near. A little girl, just sixteen and afraid, First baby on the way — life already felt like a weight. Conception wasn’t chosen, wasn’t something she planned, But her parents were biblical, had firm commands. Abortion wasn’t an option — her daddy was sick, Stepmom said, “I won’t be stuck raising it.” [Verse 2] So she took all the classes, prepared like she should, Saved baby bucks, buying everything she could. Four months in, she’s falling deeper in love, But stepmom said, “I’m not convinced you’ll care enough.” Options shrinking, feeling hopeless and stressed, She searched every door, chose a path of selflessness. She found two parents who’d been praying for a child, She felt sad but strong — hope carried her for a while. [Chorus] She said a prayer the day she let him go, “Lord, lead my baby where he needs to grow.” If love is sacrifice, then her heart learned so— A mother’s love don’t break… it overflows. And even though they walk two different roads, He’s still the child her soul will always hold. [Verse 3] Months passed by… then a message finally came, The woman said she was pregnant — blessings in His name. But she still wanted to talk, still felt something inside, Said another blessing would be straight from God’s design. The girl felt relief — at least for her son, But for her own heart, the battle had just begun. She loved that baby, didn’t want to let go, But knew her situation moved painfully slow. [Verse 4] She met the couple, wished them well, Gave every baby item — a future for them to tell. And the next few months, they drifted by, But her nights weren’t peaceful — too many tears to cry. She felt the ache of losing her child, Not losing — but living knowing he’s alive. [Chorus] She said a prayer the day she let him go, “Lord, lead my baby where he needs to grow.” If love is sacrifice, then her heart learned so— A mother’s love don’t break… it overflows. And even though they walk two different roads, He’s still the child her soul will always hold. [Bridge] She was mentally ready, but money wasn’t there, And the parents she chose felt like God answered her prayer. In the hospital she held him — her whole soul ensnared, But his parents were waiting… she couldn’t be unfair. [Outro] No matter how much she loved that baby so, She whispered, “Go where God leads… I’ll let you grow.” A mother’s love — stronger than anyone knows, Sometimes the bravest heart… is the one that lets go.
