Keeper Of A Memory

V5

This song is part of the same story as my other track. Both songs take place in Brasswich, a steampunk reimagining of London in a universe of my own creation. A city of gaslight, gears, clock towers, and iron streets that never truly sleep. “The Mainspring of My Soul” tells the beginning of the tragedy: a meticulous watchmaker whose perfectly ordered life is transformed by love and shattered by sudden loss. Grief drives him to obsession, trying to replace what was lost with brass, springs, and ticking hearts that can never truly beat. “Keeper of a Memory” continues that story. Here, the same man crosses a darker threshold, using forbidden clockwork to slow time itself, searching for a single stolen moment. The one where everything went wrong. What begins as hope turns into a prison, as time demands its price and memory becomes something that traps rather than comforts. Together, these songs form two chapters of the same narrative: love, loss, obsession, and the terrible cost of trying to defy time in the fog-choked streets of Brasswich. https://suno.com/s/Ru28iOMacDZNn1Yp Verse 1 In the fog of Brasswich, a debt must be paid, For a single stolen moment, a promise betrayed. Old man Harrow, with a watchmaker's grace, Handed me the key to time and this cursed place. Chorus Slow it down, 'til the rain hangs in the air, Slow it down, 'til I find that moment there. I'm the keeper of a memory that's starting to bleed, And I'll break the hands of time to plant a different seed. Verse 2 The pocket watch awakens, the gears begin to grind, Leaving all the hurried faces of the city far behind. I walk through frozen crowds, a ghost in their machine, Searching for your face in that forgotten, final scene. Chorus Slow it down, 'til the rain hangs in the air, Slow it down, 'til I find that moment there. I'm the keeper of a memory that's starting to bleed, And I'll break the hands of time to plant a different seed. Bridge But dust in the lamplight shows a crack inside the glass, Every heartbeat I steal is one I'll never get to pass. This power is a prison, a weight I have to bear, 'Cause I'm stuck inside forever, in the moment of despair. Chorus Slow it down, 'til the rain hangs in the air, Slow it down, 'til I find that moment there. I'm the keeper of a memory that's starting to bleed, And I'll break the hands of time to plant a different seed. Outro Harrow warned me that the clock demands its due... I found the moment. And now I'm frozen too. I'm frozen here with you.
