[Intro — whispered, distant thunder] I saw a scroll in the hand of the One upon the throne, Seven seals locked tight, its mysteries unknown. Then the Lamb came forward, bearing wounds upon His frame, The only One found worthy to break the seals of fate. He took the scroll. He broke the seal. And heaven heard the sound. --- [Verse 1 — The First Seal] The Lamb broke the first seal— One living creature cried: “Come.” I looked— A white horse. Its rider held a bow, A crown was given to him, And he rode out conquering, Bent on conquest. White horse, crown of victory, Cold eyes beneath the sky, No battle yet was raging— But conquest had arrived. The first seal was broken. And something rode out. --- [Verse 2 — The Second Seal] The Lamb broke the second seal— “Come.” Another horse appeared. Fiery red. Its rider was given power To take peace from the earth. A great sword in his hand. Brother turned against brother. Nation turned against nation. Peace vanished from the earth. The red horse thundered onward. And war followed in his wake. --- [Chorus] Seven seals upon the scroll, Seven doors beneath the throne. The Lamb breaks one— And judgment comes. Conquest rides. War follows. Hunger waits. Death comes. Seven seals. Seven cries. The heavens tremble As the final hour draws nigh. --- [Verse 3 — The Third Seal] The Lamb broke the third seal— “Come.” A black horse. Its rider held a pair of scales. And a voice cried: “A quart of wheat for a denarius, Three quarts of barley for a denarius.” The scales were weighed. The food was measured. The price was heavy. But— “Do not harm the oil. Do not harm the wine.” Black horse beneath a starving sky, Empty hands and measured grain. The earth still holds its riches— But hunger walks the lane. --- [Verse 4 — The Fourth Seal] The Lamb broke the fourth seal— “Come.” I looked— A pale horse. Its rider's name was Death. And Hades followed behind. Authority was given to them Over a fourth of the earth— To kill by sword, By famine, By pestilence, And by the beasts of the earth. Death rode ahead. Hades followed close. The pale horse crossed the earth— And the grave opened its mouth. --- [Chorus — heavier] Seven seals upon the scroll, Seven doors beneath the throne. The Lamb breaks one— And judgment comes. Conquest rides. War follows. Hunger waits. Death comes. Seven seals. Seven cries. The heavens tremble As the final hour draws nigh. --- [Verse 5 — The Fifth Seal — slow, haunting] The Lamb broke the fifth seal— And beneath the altar I saw the souls of those Who had been slain Because of the word of God And the testimony they had maintained. And they cried: “How long, Sovereign Lord, Holy and true?” How long until You judge? How long until You avenge? A white robe was given To every one of them. And they were told: “Rest a little longer.” Until the number was complete. More would come. More would die. Beneath the altar— They waited. --- [Bridge — rising dread] Then the Lamb broke the sixth seal— And the earth shook. A great earthquake. The sun became black Like sackcloth. The whole moon became like blood. The stars of heaven fell toward the earth Like figs shaken from a tree By a mighty wind. The sky vanished like a scroll Being rolled up. Every mountain. Every island. Moved from its place. Kings ran. Princes hid. Generals trembled. Rich and mighty, slave and free— All hid themselves Among the rocks and mountains. And they cried: “Fall on us! Hide us from the One upon the throne And from the wrath of the Lamb!” For the great day had come. Who can stand? --- [Breakdown — everything drops] Who can stand? Who can stand? The sun is black. The moon is blood. The heavens are shaken. Who can stand? --- [Verse 6 — The Seventh Seal — almost whispered] The Lamb broke the seventh seal— And heaven became silent. ... Not thunder. Not screaming. Not war. Silence. For about half an hour. Then I saw the seven angels Who stand before God. Seven trumpets were given to them. Another angel came And stood beside the altar. Golden censer in his hand. Incense rose— With the prayers of the saints. Smoke before the throne. Prayers before God. Then the angel took the censer, Filled it with fire from the altar, And hurled it upon the earth. [SFX: thunder / rumbling / lightning / earthquake] Thunder. Rumblings. Flashes of lightning. An earthquake. The silence was over. --- [Outro — whispered] Seven seals. The scroll is open. The Lamb has spoken. Conquest. War. Famine. Death. The martyrs wait. The heavens shake. And after the seventh seal— Silence. --- --- Then the trumpets. [Final whisper] The judgment... Has only begun. ---
