GUARDING THE ANOINTING (THE EVANGELIST — PART NINETEEN)

cinematic film score, orchestral anthem, choral/anthemic worship

VERSE 1

What He gives by grace must be guarded by fire,
Not handled lightly, not fed by desire.
Many receive, but few remain,
The oil is costly — protect the flame.

Not every loss looks like a fall,
Sometimes distraction will steal it all.
The gift within you must not fade,
Guard what heaven has placed.

⸻

PRE-CHORUS

Hold fast — don’t let it slip away,
What heaven gave must remain.

⸻

CHORUS

🔥 Guard the anointing — protect the flame,
This holy fire is not a game.
What God has given, hold it tight,
Walk in the Spirit — live in the light.

🔥 Guard the anointing — don’t let it fade,
Stand in the power that heaven made.
Faithful and burning till the end,
The fire you carry must never bend.

⸻

VERSE 2

This is not talent, this is not skill,
This is His presence — resting still.
Holy and set apart to Him,
Never let reverence grow dim.

Familiar things can dull your sight,
What once was awe becomes routine life.
But the cost was blood, the price was paid,
Never treat it as common or safe.

⸻

PRE-CHORUS

Stay clean — stay sharp — stay true inside,
His power rests where hearts abide.

⸻

⸻

VERSE 3

What you do in secret will shape the sound,
Of the power released when you stand on the ground.
Prayer and the Word — the hidden place,
That’s where you carry sustaining grace.

No crowd can replace what God requires,
No stage can substitute holy fire.
Private devotion fuels the call,
Or public power begins to fall.

⸻

BRIDGE (INTENSITY BUILD)

Watch your life — guard your soul,
Little compromises take their toll.

Pride will whisper — “You deserve,”
But grace is given to those who serve.

Sin may hide — but it will speak,
And drain the power you claim to keep.

🔥 Fresh oil flows where hearts stay low,
Fresh fire falls where obedience grows.

⸻

KEY CHANGE → F MAJOR

⸻

FINAL CHORUS (EXPANSION)

🔥 Guard the anointing — protect the flame,
This holy fire is not a game.
What God has given, hold it tight,
Walk in the Spirit — live in the light.

🔥 Guard the anointing — don’t let it fade,
Stand in the power that heaven made.
From glory to glory — strength renewed,
Fresh oil falling — power infused.

🔥 Guard the anointing — stand your ground,
Let heaven’s fire in you resound.
Finish strong — don’t lose the call,
Keep the fire above it all.
