Cluckin’ Good Supper

[Verse 1] Well I woke up hungry ‘fore the rooster crowed, Stomach rumblin’ like an old dirt road, Put on my boots, said “today’s the day,” Gonna pick me a chicken in a feathery buffet. Yeah I came for supper but I lost my pride, Got outsmarted by a chicken twice my size [Verse 2] There’s one named Daisy thinkin’ she’s the queen, Struttin’ ‘round like she owns the whole dang scene, I said “now Daisy, girl, don’t make this rough,” But she puffed up her chest like she’d call my bluff. [Pre-Chorus] Next thing I know she’s chasin’ me ‘round, I tripped on a bucket and hit the ground! [Chorus] I’m headin’ to the chicken coop, this ain’t no game, That hen’s got attitude and knows my name, She dodged my net and she pecked my shoe, I swear that bird just laughed at me too! Yeah I wanted dinner but I changed my tune, Might just eat cereal in my kitchen soon [Bridge] Now I’m sittin’ on the porch with an ice pack on, Daisy crowin’ like she just won, I tipped my hat and said “you win tonight,” I’ll try again when you ain’t ready to fight… [Final Chorus] I went to the chicken coop, came back beat, Got respect for every bird I planned to eat, Sometimes supper don’t go as planned, Especially when the chicken runs the land!
