[Verse 1] Christmas, the happiest day of the year, for every kid, no matter where on earth. Lights on the house, we're waiting for the guy, Santa Claus, we've longed for him all year. Gifts come flying in, good or naughty still, eyes glowing bright in the winter chill. [Chorus] But in communist Romania, under the red star, we had two Santas, that was bizarre! The real one, secret and kinda banned, and Santa Coldy, the regime's own brand. Both in red, with beards so long and white, down the chimney, gifts in the night. Double the fun, double the trick, Christmas was epic, that's the kick! [Verse 2] Didn't care to me, just bring on the presents, Mom and Dad rebelling on the sly. In both names, piles of wrapped surprises, against the system, a quiet defy. Dad with his joke, same one every time: „Our place is as cold as Santa Coldy's home!“ I'd laugh along, just to keep him happy, he was in charge of the gift factory. [Bridge] Then came that day, 1989 in December, Dad announces: „Santa Coldy's done forever!“ Family cracks up, I'm almost crying, thought I could change his mind, trying. But in his voice, relief and sheer delight, victory over the cold one, what a sight. [Chorus] Yeah, in Romania, under the red star, we had two Santas, that was bizarre! The real Santa free, regime finally cracked, Christmas wins, and we're liberated at last. Double joy turns to one true cheer, gifts forever, no more lies or fear. [Outro] Christmas victorious, 1989, the real guy laughs, and so do we in time!
