[Verse 1] Little shadow on the windowsill Yellow eyes in the morning glow They warned me you were bad luck Guess they never stayed to know You curl up where my heartbeat is Paws kneading through my old gray tee If this is what they call “a curse” Let it follow me [Chorus] Black cat halo Shining in the dark on my floor They call you omen But I know you’re the open door Every soft step Turns the old fear into a joke Black cat halo You’re the opposite of what they spoke [Verse 2] Kids whisper on the sidewalk Pointing at your midnight coat But you just chase a crumpled leaf Like it’s the greatest thing you’ve known You blink slow Like a secret Like you’re blessing every room you roam Every rumor falls to pieces When you claim my lap your home [Chorus] Black cat halo Shining in the dark on my floor They call you omen But I know you’re the open door Every soft step Turns the old fear into a joke Black cat halo You’re the opposite of what they spoke [Bridge] Let them keep their stories We’ll keep all these quiet nights You purring through the thunder Proof that love rewrites [Chorus] Black cat halo Shining in the dark on my floor They call you omen But I know you’re the open door Every soft step Turns the old fear into a joke Black cat halo You’re the opposite of what they spoke
