[Verse 1] When my feet grow weary on the mountain trail, When my little heart grows frightened in the gale, When I cannot tell the right road from the wrong, He draws me to His bosom and carries me along. He hears the quiet sigh that no one else can hear, He sees the hidden trembling, He knows my every fear. The Shepherd of the heavens, whose power can never fail, Bends down in tender mercy for one small, helpless lamb. [Chorus — Warm Female Lead, Three-Part Harmony] He knows this lamb by name, He holds me close and tight, He carries me through valleys and walks with me through night. When I am weak, He's strong; when I am lost, He's near, The Shepherd of my soul will never leave me here! Oh, the love that holds me, oh, the grace that makes me whole! The hands that bear the nail scars keep watch upon my soul. I'm safe within His mercy, whatever storms may come— The Shepherd holds His lambs, and I am one! [Verse 2] He knows the weight of sorrow, He knows temptation's call, He walked the road of suffering and understands it all. The Lamb of God who bore our sin, the spotless Sacrifice, He gave Himself to save us; He paid redemption's price. He doesn't turn away from the weak or worn and tried, He doesn't shame the trembling soul that has nowhere to hide. The great High Priest of mercy sees the tears we cannot show, And gathers up His little ones wherever they may go. [Chorus] He knows this lamb by name, He holds me close and tight, He carries me through valleys and walks with me through night. [Verse 3 — Gentle, Reflective] The price of my redemption was written in His blood, He found me in my wandering and lifted me from mud. I am not His by merit, I have no claim to fame, I belong to Christ my Savior; I'm purchased by His name. A gift from God the Father, a soul He came to save, A lamb for whom He suffered, a life He freely gave. And though my steps are faltering, His promises remain, The Shepherd who has bought me will not have bought in vain. [Bridge — Female Lead, Harmony Builds] When I am weak, He carries me. When I am blind, He helps me see. When I am lost, He seeks me out. His tender heart has cast out doubt. No sigh forgotten, no tear unseen, No trembling lamb beyond His reach. The hands that shaped the stars above Are the hands that hold me close in love! [Instrumental Break] [Verse 4 — Bright, Joyful Country Gospel] So let the fiddle tell it, let the mountains sing it clear, The Shepherd who has saved me will forever hold me near! Let every little lamb rejoice, let every weary heart Remember that the Savior will never let us part. Not by my strength I'm standing, not by the road I've trod, But by the blood of Jesus and the keeping power of God. So I'll sing through every season, through the sunshine and the rain, For the Shepherd who has bought me will lead me home again! [Final Chorus — Full Three-Part Harmony, Joyful] He knows this lamb by name, He holds me close and tight, He carries me through valleys and walks with me through night. When I am weak, He's strong; when I am lost, He's near, The Shepherd of my soul will never leave me here! Oh, the love that holds me, oh, the grace that makes me whole! The hands that bear the nail scars keep watch upon my soul. I'm safe within His mercy, my heart has overcome— The Shepherd holds His lambs, and I am one! [Final Refrain — Choir and Female Lead] He holds me close! He knows my name! His love forever stays the same! The Lamb who died! The Shepherd true! I'll spend forever praising You! [Outro — Soft, Tender Female Vocal] If you're a weary lamb tonight, If you feel too weak to stand, Remember, Jesus knows your name And holds you in His hand. You are not saved by being strong. You are not loved because you're brave. The Shepherd gave His life for you— And He is mighty still to save.
