[Intro] [Instrumental — banjo and mandolin, warm and grounded, fiddle enters slowly] [Verse 1] I've been out here every night for going on three years Nothing but my notebook and the cold and what appears above me.. In the darkness stretching further than I know I mark them down in columns, give them numbers, watch them glow The village thinks I'm strange and maybe that's alright A man who sleeps through daylight just to spend his life in night But someone has to do it, someone has to write it down Someone has to count what God has scattered on the ground [Pre-Chorus] [Music begins to wobble slightly, fiddle bends] Night forty seven Stars seem closer than before Night fifty three I think one moved I haven't slept since four [Chorus] The stars are talking I can almost hear the words The patterns mean something Something I haven't found yet Spinning, spinning overhead Everything is connected I just need a little more time A little more time To understand [Verse 2] I forgot to eat on Tuesday, maybe Wednesday too The notebook's getting crowded with the things I think I knew That constellation there — I swear it wasn't there last week Or maybe I've been moving, maybe I'm the one that's changed I drew a line between them and the line kept going on Through every star I'd catalogued and further and beyond Until the line connected back to where I started here And I sat inside the circle for I don't know how long [Pre-Chorus] [Music more dissonant now, banjo skips a beat] Night eighty one The stars spelled out my mother's name Night eighty eight I answered them They haven't said the same [Chorus] The stars are talking I can almost hear the words The patterns mean something Something I haven't found yet Spinning, spinning overhead Everything is connected I just need a little more time A little more time To understand [Bridge] [Music slows, becomes dreamlike and unmoored] What if the universe Was always trying to explain itself And we just weren't quiet enough To hear it What if the darkness Isn't empty But full of something That only shows itself To those who stay long enough To stop being afraid What if I'm not going mad What if I'm just Finally Listening [Verse 3 — increasingly fragmented] The lines connect the Pleiades to something in the south A frequency I feel more in my chest than in my mouth The notebook's full I'm writing on the margins now the ground There's geometry in everything and I have almost found The thing beneath the thing beneath the pattern and the name The reason why the darkness and the light are both the same I only need one more night I only need one more night I only need one more night and then I'll [Final Chorus — wide and unraveling] The stars are talking I can hear them now The patterns mean everything I've finally found it somehow Spinning, spinning overhead I am connected I just need to stay out here Just one more night Just one more night [Outro] [Banjo slows, becomes single notes, then silence] Night one hundred and twelve The sky is full of writing I think I wrote it [Single banjo note] [Silence] ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A psychedelic newgrass spiral into beautiful madness — a star cartographer who has been alone in the dark long enough that the boundary between observation and hallucination has dissolved entirely. The song tracks his descent in real time through night-log entries that grow increasingly unhinged: stars spelling his mother's name, lines connecting everything to everything, writing on the ground when the notebook runs out. The philosophy underneath is genuine — what if the universe is trying to explain itself and we just aren't quiet enough to hear? — but by the end we can no longer tell if he's achieved enlightenment or simply lost his mind. The newgrass instrumentation starts grounded and warm before gradually becoming dissonant, dreamlike and unmoored. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Bingo Board — 2026 [A1] GoGo × Shame [B1] Klezmer × Thirst [C1] Mongolian Throat Singing × Entropy [D1] Instrumental Only × Aerobics [E1] Native American Flute × Democracy [F1] Hopera × Mushroom / Fungi [A2] Rap × Nature [B2] Delta Blues × Dark Ages [C2] Grand Country × Uplifting [D2] Motown × Awakening [E2] Surf Rock × Surrealism [F2] Accordion × Train Hopping [A3] Chap Hop × Muscle Flex [B3] Witch House × Shed Your Burden [C3] Ska × Conflict [D3] Cyberpunk × Transmittable [E3] Groove Metal × Gnomes [F3] Wonky × Ice Cream [A4] Yacht Rock × Love [B4] Screamo × Bubblegum [C4] Fado Phonk × Africa Language [D4] Electronic Dance × 42 [E4] R&B Funk × Banana Split [F4] Skweee × Dating [A5] Lo-fi Indie Pop × Cheating Death [B5] Krautgaze Drone Rock × Heartbreak [C5] Balkan Folk × Transformation [D5] NeoFolk × Hardship [E5] Classical Music × Bird [F5] Alternative Rock × Courage [A6] Harpsichord Symphonic Metal × Faith [B6] Vocal Only / Acapella × Hope [C6] Ballad × Seduction [D6] Psychedelic Newgrass × Philosophy [E6] Yodeling × High Fantasy [F6] Punkrock × Awkward Fathers ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ © 2026 Ande Records Lyrics by Ande All rights reserved. https://ande-records.se/
