[Verse 1] I tried to fix my name With clean hands and hard plans But every polished mask Still cracked in my hands I chased a better life Through my own locked door Till mercy found my face On a worn-out floor [Pre-Chorus] Then You called my ruin By a better name Grace stepped in close And the whole room changed My shame fell open Like a broken chain Now I can finally sing What I couldn't say [Chorus] Good news, good news Christ dies for me Good news, good news If I believe Good news, good news The grave lost its claim Good news, good news Jesus knows my name (good news) (good news) [Verse 2] I was not the first To run from the flame Adam hid in dust Still You came You wrote hope in blood On a rugged tree When there was no way home You made a way for me [Pre-Chorus] Now the door is open Wide enough for all Every proud old mountain Has to hear it fall Need made room for mercy Mercy met my need And the word You planted Keeps on living in me [Chorus] Good news, good news Christ dies for me Good news, good news If I believe Good news, good news The grave lost its claim Good news, good news Jesus knows my name (good news) (good news) [Bridge] There is no need For the gospel If there is no good need But I was empty And You found me With a love I didn't see Now I stand amazed In the light You bring Out of death and dust I have everything [Final Chorus] Good news, good news Christ dies for me Good news, good news If I believe Good news, good news The grave lost its claim Good news, good news Jesus knows my name (good news) (good news) Christ lives in me
