Throughout my life poetry has been an almost
spiritual way that I have been able to commune
with the innermost parts of myself.

I've been able to smith words and string lines
together to express myself and to often turn
darkness into something beautiful.

I have also always sung -- once upon a time
in church and then also during most of my
studies in high school and college. I find
solace and safety and joy in singing.

But writing lyrics and making music is new.
It's equally fun and significant. Most of the
time I make music that I enjoy, that I like to
sing and that sounds good to me.

But I also make music to express the
perspective of a gay man for both myself
and for anyone else who may happen upon
my songs and feel understood in the lyrics.

I make music to be free. To be heard. To be
seen.

And I make music to free. To hear. And to see.
