From the splendor of eternity, To a feeding trough in poverty, From the worship of the seraphim, To a world that rejected Him. From the fellowship of the Holy Three, To crying "Father, why have You forsaken Me? From knowing joy no tongue can tell, To tasting death and bearing Hell. They laid Him in a borrowed tomb, His disciples thought He’d met His doom, But death could never hold its prize, For Sunday morning saw Him rise! The journey wasn't finished there, He conquered death, hell, and despair, And now He reigns on Heaven's throne, Preparing now to bring us home. From Heaven to the manger to the cross, He left His throne to save the lost, From death to life, from grave to glory, This is our Jesus, this is His story. They laid Him in a borrowed tomb, His disciples thought He’d met His doom, But death could never hold its prize, For Sunday morning saw Him rise!
