Black Dolls Speak (Grunge Rap Descent)

[Verse 1] I saw my old fear at the end of your hall It wore my father’s coat and stood very still First it shook my hands then it learned my name Then it took my shoes and left me in the rain [Pre-Chorus] One by one they came from under the bed Small at first then they grew teeth I tried to lock the door I tried to hold my breath But every step behind me knew the way I bleed [Chorus] They come out to play They come out to play One gets in my skin One takes more away They come out to play They come out to play Each one worse than the last Each one knows my name [Verse 2] The second one laughed with my sister’s mouth It spilled black sugar all over the couch The third one whispered through the cracked TV glass Said “look at you now” while the house went black [Pre-Chorus] One by one they came from under the bed Small at first then they grew teeth I tried to lock the door I tried to hold my breath But every step behind me knew the way I bleed [Chorus] They come out to play They come out to play One gets in my skin One takes more away They come out to play They come out to play Each one worse than the last Each one knows my name [Bridge] And the last one smiled like it knew my past Wore my own face and it never looked back I lit every room but it stayed inside Cold in my throat and alive in my eyes [Final Chorus] They come out to play They come out to play One gets in my skin One takes more away They come out to play They come out to play Each one worse than the last Each one knows my name They come out to play They come out to play I hear them at night When I try to be brave
