[Verse 1] I bought a mango at noon Yellow skin, thumbprint bruise Split it open in the sink Dripped gold on my shoes Seeds like a little moon Sticky hands, grin on my face Birds outside the window Sounded like they knew the place [Pre-Chorus] And I laughed for no reason Just because it was sweet Life gets strange in the best way When fruit falls open like this [Chorus] Salt on the mango Salt on the mango I like it that way I like it that way Salt on the mango Salt on the mango Sweet with a spark Sweet with a spark [Verse 2] Took the pit to the yard Buried it by the fence Now I check that patch of dirt Like it owes me sense Tea on the back porch rail Wind moving through the screen Even tiny little things Keep showing up to be seen [Pre-Chorus] And I laughed for no reason Just because it was sweet Life gets strange in the best way When fruit falls open like this [Chorus] Salt on the mango Salt on the mango I like it that way I like it that way Salt on the mango Salt on the mango Sweet with a spark Sweet with a spark [Bridge] Maybe that’s the trick Take the rough with the ripe Let the day be a handful Let it shine in the light [Final Chorus] Salt on the mango Salt on the mango I like it that way I like it that way Salt on the mango Salt on the mango Sweet with a spark Sweet with a spark
