✍🏽 ALL LYRICS AND STAGE DIREECTION BY EME LATINA (2025) ----------------------------------------------- ABOUT THE SONG (DETAILS): ----------------------------------------------- I am a big fan of musicals, Broadway shows, cabarets--you name it! My idea was to personify addiction/ temptation as a character on stage. She is a woman prowling bar to bar, luring strangers and friends alike. She is deceptively dangerous, promising thrill while foreshadowing regret. I wanted a slow moody intro that swelled into more and more energy, and somewhat chaos, much like drinking until you feel out of it. You should almost feel like you're losing control. There's movement and tempo changes and inflections that lead to various emotional moments--and of course, 1-2 dance breaks for the dancers ☺️🎭✨ Welcome to the show! 👏🏽✨ ----------------------------------------------- E M E T A K E S B R O A D W A Y :::NOW PLAYING::: O L D E N D S T. ----------------------------------------------- “In the heart of a late-night street party, Temptation herself takes the stage. She seduces the crowd with jazzy swagger, reminding them she’s only ever one glass away. This is her invitation —and her warning— to anyone daring enough to look for her.” ----------------------------------------------- Act I – The Entrance (Stablish Allure) ----------------------------------------------- [intro -slow, sultry piano intro with a jazzy beat, light percussion creeping in, setting a mysterious, seductive atmosphere] "Hey!" If you’re looking for me… You know where I’ll be… But don’t ask me the way…. (it’s tricky) [Verse 1] I keep your fears close… Where the lights are dimmed down low.. low.. I don’t need to say a word… You’ll just know just where to go. (Adlibs: “Oh, you’ll feel it, honey…”) ----------------------------------------------- Act II – The Temptation (The Game) ----------------------------------------------- [Pre-Chorus] I’m the feeling you cannot escape I’m the fire that you wanna taste I’m the game that you cannot unplay— But honey, honey, you’ll beg me to stayyy "Oh, you know where…” [Chorus] If you’re looking for me… Oh, you’ll know where I’ll be… I’ll be in the dark (oh?) Where your heart used to be… I’m dangerous, and worth the risk, I’ll make you beg, you’ll let me frisk You won’t regret… (oh no no no) You won’t forget! [Verse 3] You’ll know me by the way that you ache, By the promises you break; I’m a siren in the night (oooh oooh oooh, oh) But honey, honey you’ll like it too (Adlibs: “Oh, can you feel it now?”) ----------------------------------------------- Act III – The Dance (Addiction) ----------------------------------------------- [pre-chorus] I'm the devil beneath I’m the kiss you resist… But that you want to persist. If you’re looking for me… [Breakdown with dance number] I’m dangerous, and worth the risk, I’ll make you beg, you’ll let me frisk You won’t regret… (oh no no no) You won’t forget! ----------------------------------------------- Act IV – The Spell (Inevitable End) ----------------------------------------------- [Bridge - buildup] It’s a lure… it’s a spell… If you seek… I shall tell I am close, I’ll keep near, Maybe (oh!) you’ll disappear...-- [chorus (reprised)] If you’re looking for me… Oh, you’ll know where I’ll be… I’ll be in the dark (oh?) I’ll be wherever you choose to be… I’m dangerous, Am I worth the risk? I’ll make you beg, you’ll let me frisk [2nd breakdown] Are you looking for me…? Oh, you’ll know where I’ll be… I’ll be in the dark (oh?) I’ll be wherever you choose to be… I’m dangerous, and worth the risk I’ll make you beg, you’ll let me frisk [pause] Are you looking for me…? ----------------------------------------------- Act V – The Aftermath ( A cycle) ----------------------------------------------- [outro] Oh (oh!), you know where I’ll be… I’ll be in the dark (oh?) I’ll be wherever you choose to be… I’m dangerous, and worth the risk (don't you think?) I’ll make you beg, you’ll let me frisk [pause] (Are you looking for me…?) You might regret oh, I’ll make you beg, and you won't forget. [Final dance number to end] "Welcome to Old End Street..."
