[Verse 1] In the first light, you spoke it true Hands in the dust, and the sky broke through Every breath was a gift to hold Every heartbeat, a fire of gold You said it good, and it stayed that way Joy in the marrow, bright in the clay We were made for the dawn to sing Made for the rush that life could bring [Pre-Chorus] So why would I bow to the grave? Why would I run from the saved? We were spared from death and shame Lift my eyes, I call Your name [Chorus] It was good, it was good We were made for this (Oh, it was good) Rise up now, and give thanks It was good, it was good Joy is ours again (Oh, it was good) Choose the life You give [Verse 2] Ash in the mouth, but You breathed it clean Tore through the night with a living dream Hands once empty, now full of praise Feet once wandering, now find their place The broken heart, You gathered near The scared and small, You drew us here Now every scar is proof of grace Every lost soul finds its place [Pre-Chorus] So why would I bow to the grave? Why would I run from the saved? We were spared from death and shame Lift my eyes, I call Your name [Chorus] It was good, it was good We were made for this (Oh, it was good) Rise up now, and give thanks It was good, it was good Joy is ours again (Oh, it was good) Choose the life You give [Bridge] Lift me higher, not in pride Lift me higher, toward Your light We are chosen, not by fight We are kept alive tonight No more disgrace, no more fear Your own breath is still right here Every soul can say, amen We were made to live again [Final Chorus] It was good, it was good We were made for this (Oh, it was good) Rise up now, and give thanks It was good, it was good Joy is ours again (Oh, it was good) Choose the life You give It was good, it was good Spared to sing Your name (Oh, it was good) Lifted up in life
