I saw the city breathing through its teeth, faces moving, never meeting. Every sound was just the same note ringing, and I could feel it... something bleeding. I tried to speak but no one turned, just eyes like glass, reflections burned. Maybe I’m the only one alive. Maybe I’m the only one alive. They smile like they’re rehearsing grief, words fall soft, then disappear. I trace the cracks along their skin, but they don’t seem to feel them here. I keep asking, do you see it too? Someone laughs... the sky turns blue. It’s beautiful, it’s terrifying, how quiet truth can be. Maybe I’m the only one alive. Maybe I’m the only one alive. (or maybe you are too...)
