You looked up and softly smiled "Looks like rain..." Like it was an old friend Waiting on the edge of the sky We could've run We could've hidden But somehow... Neither one of us moved The world was holding its breath And so were we The wind whispered through the trees Like it already knew Some nights don't change the weather... They change you Summer rain... Falling slow around us Every drop A little memory Washing yesterday away! Summer rain... Heaven singing softly While the whole world disappeared Until there was only You... And me... Streetlights painted silver On the quiet road The first raindrops found your shoulders Like tiny stars coming home You reached for my hand Without saying a word And somehow The silence Said everything Thunder rolled Closer now The clouds opened wide But we stayed Laughing As the rain came down! Summer rain... Nothing left to hide now Every heartbeat Echoing Like thunder in the night Summer rain... Every dream awakening If tomorrow never came I'd still remember This... One... Night... Let the rivers run Let the heavens call Some loves are written In the stars Ours was written In the rain When the sky broke open So did our hearts! Summer rain... Summer rain! Falling all around us Falling all around us! Every drop became a promise Every moment became forever Summer rain... The storm became our shelter The lightning found the darkness But love found the light Inside our souls And suddenly... The whole world... Felt brand new Only the rain remains... We never ran...
