Ballad of the Sovereign Soul
In lands where kings and tyrants reigned, Where laws were forged in iron chains, A voice arose, both fierce and free, To sing of sovereign liberty. No crown, no throne, no gilded lie Could dim the fire in reason’s eye. The soul, they said, is not for sale— Its compass true, its will the sail. Let each man walk his chosen road, Unburdened by the state’s heavy load. Let trade be fair, let speech be wide, Let law protect, not override. The market hums with honest hands, No need for kings to draft commands. Where choice is law and peace is pact, The world moves forward, swift and exact. No sword shall strike without just cause, No rule shall stand above just laws. The Non-Aggression Creed shall bind The hearts of those who would be kind. A farmer tills, a poet dreams, A builder crafts with quiet schemes. No master calls, no leash is thrown— Each life is lived, each path is grown. Yet still they warn: beware the snare Of power cloaked in public care. For every law that claims to shield May sow the chains that never yield. So raise the torch, let freedom ring, Let minds be sharp and voices sing. For liberty, though oft denied, Is truth that will not be defied. And though the road be steep and long, The sovereign soul is ever strong. It walks alone, it walks with grace— A rebel heart in every place.
