Crimson Pledge

Dreamy, widescreen ballad with female vocals over reverb-soaked guitar arpeggios and airy synth pads; verses intimate and close-mic’d, chorus explodes into an epic, futuristic swell with soaring top line, tom-driven drums, and layered harmonies; bridge strips back to pulsing synth and soft guitar before a final, anthemic chorus with echoing ad-libs and a long, emotional outro, strong, female vocals

[Verse 1]
Ash on the floor
Red in the doorway
Small hands shaking
Name on your tongue

Cold steel and shouting
You ran through the hallway
Crimson in your mirror
You were the only one

[Pre-Chorus]
You tripped on his shadow
He turned
Saw your eyes
And something in his quiet
Chose a different side (mm)

[Chorus]
Crimson pledge
“I will stand between the world and your breath”
You were holding onto tatters of a life and his hand
While the hunters called your bloodline a curse
Not a clan

Crimson pledge
“I will stay until there’s nothing of me left”
On a road of burning bridges and blades in the sand
You were just a frightened child
He was all you had

[Verse 2]
Campfire flicker
Smoke in your hair
He joked ‘bout your temper
You learned not to stare

You stitched up his shoulder
He bandaged your knees
He hummed as you drifted
Dreaming under trees (oh)

[Pre-Chorus]
He taught you your breathing
How to hide your fire
Said
“Live for every heartbeat
Not for their desire”

[Chorus]
Crimson pledge
“I will stand between the world and your breath”
You were learning how to laugh through the ash
Through the dread
Drawing faces in the dust where your family bled

Crimson pledge
“I will stay until there’s nothing of me left”
He would tease you out of nightmares
Keep watch while you slept
Like a demon made of scars
Guarding what was left

[Bridge]
Blades in the darkness
Circles of salt
You saw him stagger
Called it your fault

Blood on his lips
Still he smiled through the pain
“Run like hell
Little flame
Let my dying mean your name” (oh, please don’t go)

[Chorus]
Crimson pledge
You were screaming but he pushed you to the edge
Took the arrow meant to hollow your chest
Drew their hate
Every wound another promise he’d not let you break

Crimson pledge
In his eyes you saw the future he had kept
All the mornings you would carry the weight of his faith
As he fell into the dust
You were all he saved

[Outro]
Now you walk the ruins
Head high
Eyes bright
Whisper to the shadows
“Stay with me tonight”

Every step a vow
Every breath a thread
You carve your path in silence
On a crimson pledge
