Troparion (Tone 4) Thou hast ascended in glory, O Christ our God, granting joy to Thy disciples by the promise of the Holy Spirit. Through the blessing they were assured that Thou art the Son of God, the Redeemer of the world. Kontakion (Tone 6) When Thou hadst fulfilled the dispensation for our sake, and united earth to heaven, Thou didst ascend in glory, O Christ our God, not being parted from those who love Thee, but remaining with them and crying: “I am with you, and no one shall be against you.” Sticheron I Christ is risen from the dead, by death He has trampled down death, and upon those in the tombs He has bestowed eternal life. Sticheron II Leaving the things of earth upon the earth, and surrendering to the dust the things of ash, come, let us raise our eyes and minds on high. Let us stand in spirit upon the Mount of Olives and gaze upon the Redeemer as He rides upon the cloud into the heavens. Sticheron III The apostles beheld Thee ascending, O Lord, and they were filled with joy. Thou didst promise them the Comforter, and Thou didst not leave them orphaned. With one voice they cried aloud: “Glory to Thy Ascension, O Christ!” Final Troparion O Christ, Giver of Life, Thou hast ascended to the Father, exalting our fallen nature with Thyself. Thou art not far from those who love Thee, but abidest with us always, crying: “I am with you, and none shall prevail against you.” Doxasticon Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, both now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen. Thou hast ascended in glory, O Christ our God… (repeat the opening Troparion softly and slowly)
