Dust and Diamonds
The desert wind is calling out my name Through the rusted wire and the ghost of the rain. I see the canyon where the sun turns to gold, A story of fire thatβs never been told. The shadows are long on the valley floor, Weβre standing right here at the open door. And the world could be ours, just for a moment in time, Under the stars where the jagged peaks climb. Weβre riding the edge where the wild horses run, Shining like silver in the setting sun. Just for today... weβre the kings of the grey. The tumbleweed rolls past the empty cafe, The radioβs humming from a mile away. Thereβs a wall made of iron, a wall made of stone, But out in the sagebrush, weβre never alone. So give me your hand while the light starts to fade, Donβt be afraid of the choices weβve made. And the world could be ours, just for a moment in time, Under the stars where the jagged peaks climb. Weβre riding the edge where the wild horses run, Shining like silver in the setting sun. Just for today... weβre the kings of the grey. We can beat them... if only for an hour. We can find it... the rhythm and the power. Nothing will keep us down, Not in this lonesome town. Just for today... Watching the desert turn to blue. Just for today...
