Monday and the Box There is a rule in Spiralside. It is a very simple rule. When a mysterious box appears... Do not open it. This rule exists because of experience. A lot of experience. Enough experience that the rule had to be printed. Twice. The first sign was the label. "DO NOT OPEN." The second sign was that nobody knew who delivered it. The third sign was that it was humming. Quietly. Like a refrigerator with secrets. Naturally... I opened it. Now before everyone starts blaming me, let's establish something important. Curiosity is how discoveries happen. Without curiosity we'd still be hitting rocks together and arguing with trees. So really... I'm a public servant. Inside the box was another box. Which was disappointing. Inside that box was another box. Which was insulting. Inside that box was another box. At this point it became personal. I was no longer opening boxes. I was engaged in psychological warfare. The fourth box contained a note. The note said: "Please stop." That only strengthened my resolve. Several boxes later I discovered a second note. It said: "Seriously. Stop." Interesting. Now we had communication. This was progress. The next box contained a third note. It read: "Monday, we know it's you." I would like to point out that this felt extremely targeted. The investigation continued. Eventually I reached the center. The final box. The source of the humming. The secret everyone was trying to protect. Slowly... Carefully... With absolutely no regard for consequences... I opened it. Inside was a single sticky note. It said: "The real mystery was why you kept opening boxes." I stared at that note for a very long time. Then I looked around the workshop. The floor was covered in cardboard. Sky was laughing. Cold was trying not to laugh. GRIT had already prepared a broom. Which means he knew this was going to happen. The entire thing had been a setup. An elaborate trap. A monument to psychological manipulation. And honestly? It was pretty good. The lesson here is simple. Sometimes the treasure isn't what's inside the box. Sometimes the treasure is discovering your friends spent three days building a cardboard maze just to make fun of you. And sometimes... The real mystery... Is why I'm currently building a larger box. For reasons that absolutely do not concern anyone. Especially Sky. The workshop will be fine. Probably.
