Becoming the Me I Am (alt-rock Looking Glass prologue)

I am the voice of a man who has been through so much, not as others perhaps, but my own blindness. I have seen him pass by and he is not alone. He is still here, not what he was but what he is becoming. And when I look at his face, it's like I'm standing in front of me. And then I can see that my eyes are open. My heart is full of love, not because of ease, but because I have given myself to a greater love. I know He is there for me, and I feel His presence. I want to be with Him forever. He will always be by my side…or I’ll be by His... He will never leave me. I promise you this life is worth living when walking in the light you have. [pause] Seeing a picture of me and my siblings from two decades ago, I recognized every person, but also recognized that none of us are the same people. It provoked the questions: Are those our children? Are they our shadows? And concluded with a revelation: All I know is that it’s the me I used to be, but now I am becoming the me I am…
