[Verse] Foot of the cross dust in the wind Burden I carried bound in sin Loosened the shackles broke the chain Freedom found in holy rain [Verse 2] Into the sepulcher dark and deep Heavy weight now eternal sleep Lifted by grace wounds to mend Journey anew walk till the end [Chorus] The burden falls the heart is light Shimmering dawn breaks the night Glorious day found in the loss At the feet of the mighty cross [Verse 3] Pilgrim's path so weary and worn Wandered lonely life forlorn But a light came from high above Whispered peace and endless love [Bridge] Echoes ring and angels sing Voices rise and joy does bring No more sorrow no more pain Blessed relief in Heaven's name [Chorus] The burden falls the heart is light Shimmering dawn breaks the night Glorious day found in the loss At the feet of the mighty cross
