There’s a light out on the sea. It’s like it’s calling her to me. Just like the night we called it love. What did we know? We meet again. So much is new. I swear my heart feels deja vu. The years between all vanish when I hear that sweet hello. I ask her how’s the job, the family, reeling deep inside. I hear her words and try to focus, lost in her eyes. The slivered moon upon the water begs I take a chance. Out of nowhere I say, “May I have this dance?” (musical interlude) Finer still than a kiss is to hold her just like this. There’s a million voices asking why we can’t resume. “You’re still the same,” she said to me. Squeezed my hand and kissed my cheek. Then she left me wondering underneath the last new moon.
