By Bob Young i [Intro] By the light of the silvery moon, That casts its glow on the world in tune, The stars above in the velvet sky, Seem to twinkle as they drift on by. [Verse 1] The gentle breeze whispers through the trees, Rustling leaves in the midnight breeze, And on the Marsing pond, just a shimmering gleam, of the Lizard Butte above the pond, Reflects the moon in a tranquil dream. [Break] [Chorus] By the light of the silvery moon, That casts its glow on the world in tune, The stars above in the velvet sky, Seem to twinkle as they drift on by. [Verse 2] Robin and I stroll by the water's edge, Making promises, a lovers pledge, While nightingales sing a soft refrain, Washing away the day’s sorrow and pain. [Break] [Verse 3] Oh, silvery moon, so calm and bright, You guard the secrets of the night, A beacon for the lost and lone, Till the breaking dawn calls them home. [End] By the light of the silvery moon, That casts its glow on the world in tune, The stars above in the velvet sky, Seem to twinkle as they drift on by.
