T’was the night before Christmas, all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse They were all locked up in laboratories!
The exigency for sleep had been Planted childlike By an angry empty shell Of a man Into the mind of a small human Anxious and fearful Now it needed to be expunged By lasting through the night Just the once Deliberately Not as a captive Of passion Soon the people were Charging the gates of hell ' Welcome guys Come right on in!' There they would cry “ less travail Less travail” A constant wail Day and night “ Pity our plight” They cried And were gleefully denied To the keepers ears t’was a delight A charm At balm To soothe And bring such calm As he had never had To know they were so sad So so sad He cast an inward eye Across the memory Of the desolation Each one had wrought In pursuit For things they bought Without a second thought Of the cost Or what was lost
