Bunkbed Blues

[Verse] I said to my man Let's get a bunkbed Oh please He shook his head Said no way You're dreamin' on your knees But I see us there Midnight feastin' like we're kids Oh the laughter The larks The things we never did [Chorus] Bunkbed blues Oh the things I wanna do Climb up top Feel the view But you say no You refuse Bunkbed dreams Oh they’re callin' me and you We’d be laughin' Snack attackin' In our bunkbed rendezvous [Verse 2] Movie night twist We'd stack the popcorn high Steel guitar strummin' as the sunset paints the sky In the garden Bunkbed sittin' Stars winkin' hello But you'd say "That top bunk's off limits " and my heart sinks low [Chorus] Bunkbed blues Oh the things I wanna do Climb up top Feel the view But you say no You refuse Bunkbed dreams Oh they’re callin' me and you We’d be laughin' Snack attackin' In our bunkbed rendezvous [Bridge] What’s life without a little climb Without a little swing I’d hang my head down from the top Pretend I’m a queen We’d rule our own little world Two tiers of delight But you'd say "No way " and turn out the light [Chorus] Bunkbed blues Oh the things I wanna do Climb up top Feel the view But you say no You refuse Bunkbed dreams Oh they’re callin' me and you We’d be laughin' Snack attackin' In our bunkbed rendezvous
