Oni Utage — The Oni Banquet

[Verse 1] Today I’m a wicked oni, see Too much sake’s gotten into me Down from the mountains to the village I roam Even the moon hides behind the clouds “Please save us!” they cry and wail Tears and snot all over the trail Even the snot-nosed brats turn pale As the banquet of hell sets sail Human kindness, human tears Can’t reach my drunken heart tonight By the hearth where embers dance I drain my cup and laugh with delight [Rap 1] Yo! My oni horns could pierce the moon When I get drunk, all reason’s doomed Back to the mountains with stolen treasure Gold and coral bring me pleasure Rattling laughter, stomach growling loud Beat the drums and shake the crowd Even wolves will run in fear When an oni’s in a rotten gear [Chorus] Gahahahaha! Tonight’s the greatest night alive Red moon glowing, bonfires bright Sake and laughter never cease Gahahahaha! The oni banquet never ends Echoing far beyond the hills Dance all night until dawn breaks free [Verse 2] Holding an empty barrel of sake Stumbling around, my footsteps shaky Feels like the stars are swaying too The drunken world’s a funny view Stacked-up coins catch my eye A crooked grin spreads wide and sly Tomorrow’s troubles I don’t care If I can laugh, I’m happy there An owl cries out in the distance Night wind carries sparks through the darkness Oni flames dance deep in the hills And still the banquet carries on 　 [Rap 2] Hey! Drink and sing, my fellow oni Let the drumbeats shake the mountains No lectures, rules, or boring talk Tonight we celebrate without restraint Raise your horns and shout aloud Pour the fire-sake down in one gulp Even the crimson moon gets drunk This oni madness won’t stop now [Chorus] Gahahahaha! Tonight’s the greatest night alive Red moon glowing, bonfires bright Sake and laughter never cease Gahahahaha! The oni banquet never ends Even dawn can’t stop us now The legend of the oni lives on Gahahahaha! Voices echo across the mountains A drunken oni choir resounds Until the morning sun ascends! [End]
