Serpent Scales (Emerald Tablet 5)

I entered the chamber where the scales stood waiting, No gold, no throne, no crowd for praising, Only black stone and the silence humming, Like the walls themselves already knew my judgment. Blue flame flickered through serpent engravings, Dust moved slow through the cold air shifting, Every breath echoed back twice louder, Like truth grows heavier inside stillness. Then came the voice with no form attached to it, Not harsh, not cruel — just impossible to argue with, “Tell me who you are without performance, Without the masks you built for importance.” Light in the darkness, gold in the mind, Lost old wisdom still echoes through time, Stars above and the world below, As within so the rivers flow. Light in the darkness, fire in the soul, Dust to the stars where the old winds blow, Seek and the hidden door opens slow, Truth ain’t found — it’s remembered below. I saw men flexing while secretly broken, Laughing too loud just to hide their emotions, Kings needing armies to feel reassured, Weakness disguised through control and force. Mind-state spirals through pride addictions, People chasing love through external attention, Building identities fragile as mirrors, Then blaming the world when the cracks grow bigger. Quick shift — eyes twitch — deep truth enters, Cold sweat — chest stress — old fears surface, Mask cracks — breath slows — soul gets honest, Hard truth cuts but the silence’s worth it. Then I saw my own reflection distortions, Moments of ego I tried avoiding, Times I spoke sharp just to feel in control, Times fear disguised itself as “protecting my soul.” The scales stayed balanced while I stood frozen, Every excuse slowly losing emotion, No punishment came — just understanding, Growth starts the second the ego stops standing. Light in the darkness, gold in the mind, Lost old wisdom still echoes through time, Stars above and the world below, As within so the rivers flow. Light in the darkness, fire in the soul, Dust to the stars where the old winds blow, Seek and the hidden door opens slow, Truth ain’t found — it’s remembered below. When I left the chamber the sky felt different, Same old world but my sight moved clearer, Because wisdom ain’t becoming flawless, It’s recognising the shadow without becoming it. And maybe that’s why the ancients hid it, Truth sounds simple but people resist it, Everybody searching for gods and portals, While the real war lives inside the mortal.
