First, fleas went in cotton and bit the rats then the rats jumped on humans in London so the humans got the disease and they coughed up blood and swelled . the rich fled to different countries in the UK and king Charles II fled to Salisbury and locked the rest of the people who lived in the castle so they don't get ill and get the disease then king Charles thought that the cats and dogs were causing the disease so he sent out people to kill all the cats and dogs in London.
