I leave the ridge, I leave the ground Another me is falling down He’ll hear my voice beneath the stone I turn away and rise alone Still in the suit, still breathing slow The clouds unravel far below No tether pulling at my waist For once, there’s nothing giving chase A sudden white across the glass The shadow of my arm falls back I turn to see the surface swell Red breaking through the planet’s shell Let me drift beyond the light Till the edge falls out of sight Every ending opens wide I can feel the other side Further out I’m still rising Further out NO HORIZON The planet bursts without a sound Its broken surface turning round A burning core hangs in its place Then spills like ribbons into space They reach my gloves and wind inside Red fills the seams along my sides I brace for pain and draw a breath The light sinks deeper in my chest The core burns low, my hands burn bright I watch its final point of light Go dark behind my open palm The wreckage turns, but I feel calm I lift my hand, the fragments slow They turn with me, I let them go What held me down has lost its hold There’s more in me than I can know Let me drift beyond the light Till the edge falls out of sight Every ending opens wide I can feel the other side Further out I’m still rising Further out NO HORIZON No crimson world to guide me home Just scattered pieces, drifting slow The beat that lived beneath the stone Keeps perfect rhythm with my own
