(Verse 1) From the heart of Missouri, where the big rivers run A Truman State scholar, just a local son He took a leap of faith back in ’82 With a Rotary scholarship and a global view He’s crunching the numbers at Bernstein-Rein But his heart’s on a mission, way down the line. (Chorus) So tip your hat to Larry, he’s the man with the Rotary plan Building bridges for the kids across every land From the KC Plaza to the streets of Paree He’s the "Shoe Cheerleader" for the world to see! With a heart full of hope and a spirit so strong Hey, Larry Lunsford, we’re singing your song! (Verse 2) He’s the CFO king of the ad-man game But "Service Above Self" is his middle name Between the Plaza lights and the BBQ smoke He’s helping out the world, and that ain’t no joke He’s got a 53-footer rolling down the road With three hundred thousand pairs of shoes in the load. (Chorus) So tip your hat to Larry, he’s the man with the plan Building bridges for the kids across every land From the KC Plaza to the streets of Paree He’s the "Shoe Cheerleader" for the world to see! With a heart full of hope and a spirit so strong Hey, Larry Lunsford, we’re singing your song! (Bridge) He says "Impact endures" when the change is done He won’t stop moving ‘til Polio’s gone A torchbearer walking through the open door Leading the Rotary family in Twenty-Twenty-Seven and more! (Guitar Solo - Upbeat Fiddle and Steel Guitar) (Outro) Yeah, he’s paying it back, like he said he would do Putting shoes on the orphans and a smile on you! Keep on rolling, Larry! [Fade to silence]
