Treacherous Ride
Verse 1: Out on the frontier, in a town so very small, Two cowboys found themselves inside a dusty hall. In a dim-lit saloon, beneath the setting sun, Their fates intertwined, as the night begun. Verse 2: One wore a hat of leather, and boots of worn-out hide, The other had a revolver, hanging by his side. They eyed each other warily, from across the smoky room, In that faraway saloon, under the rising moon. Verse 3: They sat at the bar, with whiskey glowing brown, Shared tales of their travels, through every lawless town. From desert plains to mountain trails, and rivers running wide, They found a kinship, in the stories they'd confide. Verse 4: A bounty on one’s head, the other knew it well, But they laughed and shared their secrets, and tales that cowboys tell. Decided to ride out, on horses through the night, The hunter checked his revolver, hidden out of sight. Verse 5: Underneath the blackened sky, they galloped fast and free, The outlaw told a story, the hunter listening with glee. They rode into the desert, where the air was cold and still, The tension slowly building, with every whispered thrill. Verse 6: Out in the desert, under stars so bright, They talked about a campfire, to light up the night. The outlaw said, "I'll take a piss, you dig up some steaks," The hunter turned to his bag, his hand in silent shakes. Verse 7: The hunter crouched down, reaching for his pack, Fingers brushed his revolver, ready for attack. ... He turned to take aim, but to his surprise, The outlaw stood before him, right before his eyes. Verse 8: Gun drawn and ready, aimed straight and true, The hunter froze in place, knowing what he knew. A shot rang out, echoed through the night, The hunter fell, it was a sorry sight. Outro: The outlaw stood silent, holstered his gun, Mounted his horse, his deed was done. Rode off through the desert, under skies so vast, Leaving behind the hunter, a man of the past.
