Defense of the Shore Shanty
Heave-ho, lads, the dead draw near, From the sea with a ghastly cheer, Raise your blades, your guns, your might, We’ll guard these isles through blood and night! The Jolly Roger’s bones do rise, With hollow screams and fiery eyes, But grenades we cast, and steel we swing, With daggers sharp, their doom we sing! Stand fast, brave hearts, the shore we hold, With swords and staffs and courage bold, Through smoke and flame, we’ll never fall, The island’s call — we’ll fight through all! The witchcraft dolls in hands we bear, To bind the fiends with cursed snare, And staffs of fire, sparks do fly, We’ll send the dead back where they lie! Stand fast, brave hearts, the shore we hold, With swords and staffs and courage bold, Through smoke and flame, we’ll never fall, The island’s call — we’ll fight through all! Boom of cannon, thunder’s roar, Blood and bone upon the shore, Guns alight and voices rise, “Death to the dead, no compromise!” Stand fast, brave hearts, the shore we hold, With swords and staffs and courage bold, Through smoke and flame, we’ll never fall, The island’s call — we’ll fight through all! Heave-ho, lads, the dawn will break, The sea lies still, no bones awake, Raise your cups, the day is won, The island saved till setting sun.
