Anesthesia Smile (Live at Rockstore - Montpellier, France)
Live heavy 90s grunge / sludge noise rock at Rockstore, Montpellier, France, A legendary fan-favorite deep cut played unexpectedly late in the set, Packed low-ceiling club, bodies crushed close to the stage, hot humid air, sweat, amps shaking the walls, bass vibrating the floor, short dense reflections and constant crowd bleed, Dark, oppressive, claustrophobic and dissonant, Slow creeping three-note low-tuned guitar riff, massive fuzzy bass creating a sickening pulse, sluggish heavy drums with echoing snare and dragging metallic hi-hat, Cobain-style male vocals: paranoid deadpan whisper in the verses, extremely close and breathy, then agonized desperate mid-tempo screams in the choruses, cracking under pressure, Long tense intro and slow-burn build, Raw analog tape saturation, feedback, overloaded peaks, no polished separation, no arena reverb, no outdoor ambience, Final wall of white noise, screeching feedback and sudden cold cut
