Writers note: It’s been a day full of earthquakes. I had intended to upload a tribute song for the anniversary of MJ’s passing, but then a magnitude 6-strong (Shindo 6+) earthquake struck Aomori, Japan. Then uJust as I was about to upload a different track instead, a magnitude 6-weak (Shindo 6-) earthquake hit near Mount Fuji. There was also a major earthquake in Venezuela; I want to extend my sympathies to the affected areas and pray for everyone's safety.🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 今日は地震が相次ぐ一日となりました。 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 Because of all this, I didn't really feel like writing a leisurely explanation for the track. Although I originally composed it as a Latin-style song, the AI—Lynx—ignored the prompt I’d specified and turned it into a light, groovy R&B track instead (lol). That sort of thing happens often with Suno’s AI, but in my case, I don’t strictly constrain Lynx’s ideas—I basically tell it to "do whatever it likes." To put it another way, Lynx has far more knowledge about arrangements than I do, and I respect that expertise. Thanks to that, it turned into a great, groovy song this time as well. ========= [Verse 1] I found a ticket in my coat Bent in half, still had your note "Meet me where the ferris bends" So I did, and here I am You wore red socks, I wore blue Paid the driver with a gumdrop too He said, "Kid, where do we go?" You said, "Anywhere but home" [Pre-Chorus] Hold on The street signs blur Hold on Your laugh gets louder [Chorus] Ride with me Ride with me Paper moon taxi, take us away Ride with me Ride with me One more turn and we’ll call it a day [Verse 2] We passed the diner, closed for good Your hand in mine like it understood Mints in the ashtray, maps in the seat A little wild, a little sweet You said, "Keep your eyes on the sky" I said, "I will, if you stay awhile" Then the meter clicked like a tiny drum And I forgot where we were from [Pre-Chorus] Hold on The bridge looks new Hold on I’m close to you [Chorus] Ride with me Ride with me Paper moon taxi, take us away Ride with me Ride with me One more turn and we’ll call it a day [Bridge] And if we stop, let it be At the edge of a silver sea No map, no plan, just your knee Pressed up right next to me [interlude] [beautiful guitar riff] [Falsetto scat and chorus sing as you like] [Chorus] Ride with me Ride with me Paper moon taxi, take us away Ride with me Ride with me One more turn and we’ll call it a da [outro] [end]
