As fall turns into winter but earth turns not from war, Nine rays of light Are burning bright -- eight candles and a star. The candles tell the story of Judas Maccabee Who bravely fought The foe who sought to steal his liberty. The star the wisemen followed reminds us of the one Who fought the foe Without a blow yet lasting vic’try won. Though earth is filled with darkness and never-ending war, Nine rays of light Remain in sight -- eight candles and a star.
