The Character of Christ (D. Todd Christofferson) [Apr 2026]

In latter days when scoffers mock and jeer, Questioning the Savior’s coming near. Peter asks what manner we should be, Holy, blameless, filled with purity. The character of Christ, we seek to gain, A mighty change of heart removes the stain. His thoughts, desires deep within our soul, Make us like Him, pure and truly whole. Not just actions shining on the outside, But motivations pure, where love abides. Compassion, virtue, courage from within, A Christlike heart where new life begins. The character of Christ, we seek to gain, A mighty change of heart removes the stain. His thoughts, desires deep within our soul, Make us like Him, pure and truly whole. Through faith on His name, the Spirit works its power, Turning us from evil hour by hour. Children of Christ, spiritually reborn, With no more wish to do what brings Him scorn. As we emulate His holy, perfect ways, Preparing now for that glorious day. In peace, without spot, we stand before His throne, The character of Christ becomes our own. The character of Christ, we seek to gain, A mighty change of heart removes the stain. His thoughts, desires deep within our soul, Make us like Him, pure and truly whole. O let us seek this change with all our might, Walk in His light from morning until night. When He returns, may we be found in peace, With Christlike hearts that never cease.
